A Glittery Sunburst Greeting - featuring Pinkfresh Studio

Hey there friends!

I’m carrying on with my rainbow theme this week, bringing you another colourful card and some glitter. Why? Because, well, it’s January. It’s dark, gray and gross outside, and life could really just use some colour and glitter, don’t you think?

To get started, I went through a ton of cardstock scraps and picked out a big assortment of colours for my rainbow. (This is a GREAT way to use up scraps, by the way!) Next, I used the Pinkfresh Studio Pop-Out Sunburst Die to cut each piece of the sunburst. Once that was done, I die cut another full sunburst with white cardstock to make myself a little template for filling in on my card front. I find this practice to be really helpful for geometric cover dies because the template helps to ensure all of the lines stay straight and spacing remains even.

After adhering all of the coloured pieces to my card base and lifting my template away, I moved on to…. more die cutting! I used Heather’s Lowercase Die Set to cut out a simple ‘hi’ from navy cardstock, then used 2 basic circles from white and glitter cardstock. I layered these on top of each other, adhered the sentiment on top, then stuck this piece right in the middle of the sunburst with some foam tape for dimension.

I’d love to hear: If you live in a chilly climate with a dreary winter, how do you keep your spirits up? Lately it’s been all about cozy comfy sweaters, uplifting music, long phone chats with friends, card making and crochet for me!
