Hey friends!

I’ve got a big crafty weekend ahead, which includes making a start on some holiday gift tags, one of my favourite little projects to work on. Don’t get me wrong – I adore cards, but having coordinating tags on hand when I’m gift wrapping is so handy and makes for a really gorgeous wrapped gift. Before I pull out all my bins of supplies and make a huge mess on my craft table, I wanted to share a quick card featuring The Stamp Market Ho die and some fun stripes.

To begin, I resurrected a cover die from my stash that I haven’t used in ages. It reminds me of candy canes which haven’t popped up in the grocery stores here yet, but I’m sure they’re not far away! Because this die is an oldie I haven’t a clue what the brand is, but if you’re looking for a similar one, this Essentials die from Pinkfresh Studio is very close. I paired it with heavyweight white cardstock to create my background, then gathered a few different shades of blue, pink and red cardstock to place behind the stripes.

As for the sentiment, I used the 2-piece Ho die, cutting the inner layer from white cardstock. I really wanted the sentiment to pop against the background, so I used navy cardstock for the outer layer which created a good, strong contrast. To increase that contrast even more, I adhered the letters with skinny foam strips which added some shadows. A few matte gold sequins finished it off!

Right, off I go for my gift tag production extravaganza! I hope all of you have a fun and crafty weekend as well. See you back here next week!
