Ready for some jewel tones, glitter and sequins? This card’s got all 3!
I’m not sure about you, but I often find myself needing cards for celebrations beyond birthdays – things like wedding anniversaries, work anniversaries, promotions, and other big life announcements. Having a bunch of “Hooray” cards in my stash has become really convenient, and helps me get those cards in the mail on time – or as “on time” as snail mail can be these days!
This month, Pinkfresh Studio’s September Challenge is all about rainbows, and while the colour selection I’ve got happening in today’s card isn’t a full ROYGBIV, it is a partial rainbow! For this design, I used the Pinkfresh Studio Pop-Out Sunburst die with white cardstock to cut what served as my stencil. Then I die cut all the coloured pieces, again using the same cover die. To ensure that I got the placement exactly right, I used washi tape to temporarily adhere my white “stencil” to my card base. From there, it was really easy to set each of the burst pieces into the gaps – sort of like doing a puzzle. Once they were all set in, I removed my white stencil and voila – everything was perfectly in place!
For the focal point of the card, I die cut the Hooray 2-piece sentiment from white and turquoise cardstock, layered the thin turquoise script on top of the white piece, and adhered that to the white circle in the middle of the sunburst. And because the glittery cardstock just wasn’t quite enough sparkle for my liking, I finished things off with a few bits of Crystal Confetti (my go-to because it’s so gorgeous and shiny!) from The Stamp Market.
Ta-daaa! This was super easy and fairly quick to create, and like the stripes featured in my last post, could be made using any colour combinations that you like. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Gorgeous! Thanks for playing along with our September challenge!
