Hey there friends! Today’s an extra special day, and that’s because we’re celebrating the 15th birthday of the Ellen Hutson shop! Those who know me know that I’m ALL about supporting female-led businesses, and it’s no mystery that my love for Ellen and her team runs deep. This summer I joined as a Design Ambassador, and not only did I feel incredibly honored to do so, but I also feel so lucky to have made such wonderful caring friends.
To celebrate the big 1-5, there’s a super cute new HB2U stamp set hitting the shop today, and it’s free with purchases of $100 or more while supplies last. Since birthday cards are by far the type I find myself needing the most of, I went to town with this stamp set and created a bunch of cards to replenish my always-dwindling stash.
The two I’ve got to share with you today are a little coordinated duo featuring some stripes (because I made it, after all!) and a couple of sentiments from the HB2U stamp set. I love that it comes with both outline and solid images, because not only could you stamp as I have here, but you could also color them in, emboss – whatever floats your boat! I went with some good old stamping here, offsetting the outline layer a little and adding a little secondary scripty sentiment to each.
For the shaker element on both cards, I used the Essentials by Ellen Freeform Balloons dies, which I think is such a perfect pairing for this stamp set. I went with a bold striped background on one, then tried out an ink-blended background on the other and filled them both with sequins for some sparkle. (I cannot figure out for the life of me what brand they are but these are a super close match!)
If you’re in the mood for some birthday card making, definitely hop on over to the Ellen Hutson shop and get your hands on the HB2U gift with purchase. I know it’s a stamp set I’ll be getting heaps of use out of, and can’t wait to see what you create too. You’ll find a list of the supplies I used to create these cards below, and I’ll see you back here on Wednesday with one more card featuring this stamp set. In the meantime, happy crafting (and shopping!)
