Hi friends! As of today, the new At Home Collection is live in the Catherine Pooler shop, and I’ve got a project to share that features one of the new bundles, Natural Flourishes. My eye was immediately drawn to this bundle because it features two of my favorite things when it comes to card making: abstract solid stamps and botanicals. I’m a plant lady at heart, so I was super excited to incorporate a few of the large leafy sprigs in my design.

I got started the way I always do, which was by picking out a color palette. Lately I’ve felt drawn to shades of turquoise combined with citrus tones, but oranges and yellows don’t always stamp so well over cooler greens. To solve for this, I decided to pick inks in Aquatini, Uptown and Minted and incorporate the yellows and oranges with cardstock and gold heat embossing.

With my colors picked out, I used a few stamps from the Bold Bits and Patterns stamp set to create a background panel, overlapping the stamping as I moved through from lightest to darkest inks. Once it was completely dry, I embossed a leafy branch from the Natural Flourishes stamp set in gold, trimmed the panel down to 3.5 x 4.75″, then moved onto the sentiment.

I reached for the previously-released One Liners Sentiments stamp set and combined a couple for a “Hello there, you’re possibly the best”. I stamped these on a gradient of cardstock strips, adhering them towards the upper right third of my card base. Once secure, I mounted the whole panel on foam tape and centered it on an A2 card base.

If you’re looking to get your hands on a few treats from the new At Home Collection, It’s waiting for you right here. And, if you’re looking for more inspo, you can be sure to find it on Instagram by searching the hashtag #cpathome. I’ll have another card in my feed featuring the Natural Flourishes bundle later this week, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, happy shopping!
