Let’s talk about food.
It’s a loaded subject, isn’t it? There’s no doubt that we have more information about nutrition at our fingertips now than ever before. Everywhere we look, from our Instagram feeds to the grocery store, everyone seems to be talking about “the best diet”. A food might have superfood status one day, only to become a villain the next.
Societal pressure to look a certain way, our negative self-talk, the dogmatic views on a one-size-fits-all nutrition model, and everything else has contributed to making the concept of nutrition so unnecessarily complicated. Don’t you think? If you’re feeling more confused than informed, I don’t blame you.
Our individual relationships with food can be complex, influenced by all sorts of personal experiences and beliefs. For many women, food can bring up fear, anxiety and stress. We’ve been taught over the years what an “attractive woman’s body” should look like, and while it’s wonderful to see ideals beginning to shift, there’s no denying that stereotypes have led so many of us to treat our bodies in ways that are entirely the opposite of self-loving. Eating less, getting thinner, fitting into smaller jeans and seeing numbers on the scale fall – these are all things we’ve come to associate with progress, often at the expense of listening to our intuition and being in touch with our bodies.
It’s time to tune out the noise and tune in to ourselves.
Since you’re here, I’m willing to bet you’re already open to the idea of embracing change to take your life to the next level. Is it a tweak to the way you eat? The way you move? Your sleep? Or does it need to be a deeper dive into some of those stories you’re telling yourself that prevent you from living into your highest self? Maybe it’s a combination, and trust me, I hear you. I’ve been there too. Overweight, underweight, and everywhere in between, and in all of those places, striving for something different.
Food has the ability to transform the way you look and feel.
I’ve learned a lot over the years in this ever-evolving health and wellness space, and while trends may come and go, here’s what I know for sure:
When wholesome nutrition and a healthy relationship with food are both incorporated into a lifestyle of wellness practices that work for you (not just ones that happen to be trendy now), you can truly become the best version of yourself. A body you’re proud of. Glowing, radiant skin. Endless energy to pursue the things in life that you love most.
I believe that rather than viewing food as something we should eat less of to look smaller, we should see it as something that fills us up with energy to live our biggest lives.
Instead of letting it be a source of fear and anxiety, let’s view it as something to be enjoyed and experienced with all of our senses.
Let’s not focus our energy on eating fewer calories or less fat. Rather, let’s eat what makes our bodies feel satiated, vibrant, energized and nourished.
Regardless of what diet is the current media darling, be it paleo or vegan or keto, let’s recognize that at the root of them all lies whole, unprocessed, nutrient-dense food. Food that our bodies can reap far more benefit from than any factory- or lab-produced substitute.
Trends and fads will come and go, and what works for each of us as individuals is always going to evolve over time. Embracing this and going in the flow of what our bodies are telling us is working is key to our vitality and longevity.

“I stumbled across Angela’s blog because it encompassed 3 of my favorite things…eating, spinning, and running! However, I became so much more than a follower after getting the opportunity to engage in one-on-one coaching. Her careful guidance helped me clean up my eating, balance my exercise, and find time to mentally refocus.
Angela’s delicious recipes and motivating coaching techniques helped me reset both mentally and physically. She gave me the push I needed, encouraging me to rise up and become a more focused athlete and a stronger woman! Her help remains a pivotal part of my life.
Angela inspires me to be a stronger person everyday. The coaching I received completely turned my life around (and allowed me to realize that celery is yummy)! She continues to emphasize that food and fitness are amazing privileges that make us better people. You will definitely see results with Angela!” – Kaylie
“I started working with Angela 6 months post-partum with my second baby. As a working mom I felt very stressed, tired and overweight. I had been reading Angela’s blog for years and had always appreciated her balanced approach and deep dedication to holistic self-care and improvement.
I have been working with her for 6 months now and have nothing but full appreciation for her. She met me where I was, and just had a really intuitive sense of what to say and when. She was encouraging without being demanding, yet unafraid to push me when it was clear I was losing focus. She has a great way of reading people, starting small and really focusing on realistic goals.
With her help I lost 10lbs, learned a lot more about nutrition for energy, and am a much healthier and happier mom with her coaching and encouragement.” – Christine
