It’s Friday, and I’m feeling good vibes, aren’t you? This week I’ve been sharing a bunch of cards using items from Pinkfresh Studio‘s new release, and there’s more where those came from!
Today’s card was inspired by a retro swirl image that I stumbled across on Pinterest. The new Pinkfresh Hugs and Good Vibes hot foil plate seemed like the perfect sentiment to go with this retro idea, and it was just a matter of figuring out how to create a background that communicated the same sort of swirl. I decided to have a go with the previously-released Pop-Out Sunburst Cling Stamp which would allow me to incorporate several colors but keep the focus on the gorgeous large sentiment.
Ink-wise, I went with Pinkfresh inks in Tidal Pond, Mermaid Cove, Mint, Clementine, Marigold and Warm Buff. Using my stamping tool, I alternated colors all the way around the Sunburst cling stamp until my background was complete. This stamp set has a pop-out circle in the middle, but I didn’t worry about that since I knew the sentiment would cover it.
Moving along to that gorgeous foil, I put the new Hugs and Good Vibes foil plate, a sheet of gold foil and a white piece of cardstock onto my hot foiling machine. Once it heated up, I ran it through my die cutting machine, and voila – a perfectly crisp and shiny result! If you recognize this sentiment from an earlier release, you’re not imagining things – it was originally available as a stamp set, so if you don’t have a hot foiling machine you could certainly do a gold-embossed stamped sentiment and achieve a similar result.)
I used the coordinating die to cut the foiled impression out, and from there, it was just a matter of backing it and my stamped background panel with foam tape and mounting them on my card base. Super simple, and sometimes simple is best, right?
There’s one more new release card coming up tomorrow so stay tuned for that, and in the meantime, be sure to enter the blog hop and Instagram hop – there’s still time! Have a wonderful day!
