Jumbo Hi and Vibrant Jewel Tones

Jumbo Hi and Jewel Tones featuring The Stamp Market - My Fresh Perspective

I’ve shared in the past that I LOVE a good jumbo greeting die, and today I’ve got one of my new favourite ones to show you. Last month, this absolutely gorgeous ‘Hi’ die was part of The Stamp Market’s September release and I was squealing with excitement when I first saw it. Within hours of the package arriving on my doorstep, I was into full-on card making mode, and today’s trio of cards was the result.

Before we get into them, let me tell you about this die. It’s a single die that allows you to cut the bold ‘Hi’ greeting, as well as its outline. That means you can work on 2 cards at the same time, or 3 if you count the negative space. This is exactly what I did, in combination with some jewel-toned cardstock that I found at Michaels, and The Stamp Market’s Leaflet dies.

Card 1: The Bold ‘Hi’

To kick off my crafting session, I adhered 8 jewel-toned strips of cardstock to a white panel. After positioning the ‘hi’ die on top, I ran it through my die cut machine. This provided me with the bold ‘hi’ used on this card, as well as the outline which I’ll show you on the next one.

For the background, I used the large Leaflet die (there’s a small and large one in the set) to create some leaves with heavyweight white cardstock. I adhered the die cut to a white card panel, backed that section with craft foam, and attached it to my card base. To make the sentiment really pop, I backed it with some foam tape (dimension for the win!), centered it on my leafy piece, and finished the card with a small sentiment from the Tons of Type stamp set, and some clear droplets.

Card 2: The Outline ‘Hi’

Remember that outline? We’re using it here! This time, I used the Dot Dot Dot stamp and heat embossed it in white on heavyweight vellum for another subtle, white-on-white background. With the ‘hi’ outline adhered in the center of the card, I used the smaller leaflet die in the set to cut out a whole bunch of small leaves and placed them around the edges. (This was also my trick for hiding the foam adhesive strips under my vellum!) Like the first card, I finished it off with another small sentiment from the Tons of Type stamp set.

Card 3: The Shaker ‘Hi’!

Ok, I’m finishing with this one because it deserves to be the grand finale – it’s my fave of the three! Shaker cards are fun to make, send, and receive, and this one’s no exception. I used the negative space from The Bold ‘Hi’ card here, attaching an acetate sheet to the back to form my shaker window. After backing it with lots of foam tape (gotta give those shaker bits some room to dance!), I poured some Crystal Confetti onto my card base and adhered the window panel on top. To finish, I tucked some of my white die cut Leaflet bits around the letters, and added a mini sentiment.

Ta-daa! A coordinated little trio of jumbo hi’s and jewel tones.

The versatility of this jumbo Hi die is one of the best things about it, and I know I’ll be using it a lot in the future. Gotta love when you can truly get your money’s worth, right? For now, it’s time to get these guys in the mail!
