Lots of Love Valentine’s Day Shaker Card

Lots of Love Valentine's Day Shaker Card - featuring The Stamp Market

Hello there, February!

Today’s card is the third in my coordinated Valentine’s Day trio, and she’s a sparkly one! If you missed them, be sure to also check out the first and second designs too – they’ll help you see other ways to use the same products, and I love being able to get a lot of different cards made with the same supplies!

For this Valentine’s Day shaker card, I started making my background using The Stamp Market Flowering Slimline Die and some white cardstock. This slimline die isn’t quite as wide as others in my stash, so I decided to cut two 1/4 inch strips of Peony cardstock to line the left and right sides. I adhered these three pieces onto my card base, then moved on to making my shaker flower.

I used the smaller flower in the Basic Flowers die set, first cutting my acetate window, then cutting from heavyweight white cardstock. I re-cut the outline piece several times, stacking the layers on top of each other to form walls of my shaker so that the glitter would have space to move around. After sticking all the layers together, I popped the little colourful petals in, added some glitter inside each one, then sealed up the top with my acetate window and final white flower frame. (I usually make my shaker pouches with the acetate/top side facing down, but it just seemed to work more easily to go bottom-to-top in this case.)

The flower fit perfectly over one of the white flowers in my background, so I secured it there and moved onto the last piece, the sentiment. For this I used the 2-piece Lots of Love Layering Die Set. I cut the shadow layer from Diamond Glitter cardstock, then used Raspberry, Peony and Peach cardstock for the thinner script. I stuck the layers together, then adhered them to the middle of my card. Done and done!

I’d love to hear: Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day in any way? I’m sending these cards off with some small handmade gifts for my Galentines this week, and even though I never get excited about February 14th, I’m really excited for my friends to get these!
