May might be best-known in the card making world as the month of Mother’s Day, but did you know it’s also Mental Health Awareness Month? I don’t know about you, but crafting has been a HUGE lifesaver for my mental health over the past couple of years. Whether it was during the long, dark COVID quarantine, before, or after, cardmaking is still one of my go-to activities when I need a wellness boost. Since you’re here, perhaps you feel the same way.
One of the things that makes me happiest when crafting is anticipating how the recipient of my makes will react when they receive them. While creating, I find myself thinking about that person, the colors and sorts of things that they’re into, and all of that makes the process even more enjoyable.
I had a specific friend in mind while making the matching Strawberry Fields card and gift box duo you see here, and today I’m up on the Ellen Hutson blog sharing a video on how these two projects came together.
Even though Mother’s Day has passed, these would make a perfect pairing for any upcoming gift giving occasion. I’ve used a mix of new and older Essentials by Ellen products, and you’ll find them all linked below. I hope you’ll come on over and watch the video, and that the tips I share along the way are helpful to you. See you there!
