Guys, I think I need to make 1000 of this card because there are so many people I want to send it to!
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a fanatic when it comes to all things stationery and paper. When I was in school, going to Staples to buy my new notebooks and pens always excited me far more than any clothing shopping. Can any of you relate? If you’re a paper crafter, I have a hunch you could be nodding your head right about now!
In my early 20s when I was in one of my first jobs, there was a Chapters/Indigo within walking distance of my office. On my lunch breaks, I’d go there and always found myself drawn to the stationery section (no surprise) – specifically, those fun little list-making and Post-it style message pads. They’d say something like:
FYI
TO: Angela
FROM: AshleyMEMO: I’d like to notify you that:
☐ Your hair looks incredible
☐ Your outfit is totally on point
☐ You’re giving me serious manicure envy
☐ You are generally, an incredible human being
You know these notepads, right? Well, that sort of nostalgia is exactly what I was thinking about while making this card!
The sentiment comes from The Stamp Market’s Kindness Matters set, and is just one of many other greetings I know I’ll use often. I paired it with the Modern Motif cover die, and just love how this die can be used with whatever cardstock colour combinations your heart desires. In this case, I went with a partial rainbow using Greenery, Island, Orchid, Fuschia, Melon and Citrine cardstock, covering the little diamond-shaped spots behind the die.
To ensure the Modern Motif panel stood out against the white card base, I added little bits of skinny double-sided adhesive strips all over the back. (It took a while, but it was worth it!) That adhesive was plenty to secure the panel to the card base, and I finished by placing the sentiment in the middle.
I can’t wait to get this card sent off to a friend who is most definitely a 10 on the amazing scale, and make more with new colour combinations. In the meantime, if you too are a stationery hoarder/enthusiast, I’d love to hear what some of your can’t-resist items are! Notebooks? Planners? Pens and highlighters? Tell me about your must-haves!
This card took my breath away when I first saw it!! And that sentiment…SO good!! I’m still hoping to grab this die and then never leave my crafty desk! It’s fabulous, isn’t it?
Aw thanks Ivana! It is indeed – I’ve even been making holiday cards with it! I hope it makes its way into your stash soon!
