Hey there friends, and Happy Easter for those of you celebrating! Today marks the start of the Pinkfresh Studio April Challenge, and this month is all about Gold Goodness! If you treated yourself to some of the washi tapes and hot foil plates in the recent releases, this is the time to put those supplies to work.
The two cards I’ve got for you today feature the Pinkfresh Studio Painted Peony washi tape which I think is SO perfect for Spring, don’t you? I began my craft session by rolling out a few stretches of washi tape on cardstock, then die cutting those with the coordinating Painted Peony dies.
For the first card, I wanted the big peony bouquet to be the focal point. I created a frame with the Essentials Stitched Scallop Rectangle die set and adhered it at an angle on a white card panel. Next came the bouquet, also backed with foam tape. I finished things off with a Hello sentiment from the Classic Words die set, cutting the inner script from gold cardstock to coordinate with the gold highlights in the washi tape.
The second card was where I used all the small peony clusters, arranging them in a diagonal line across a white card panel, scored every 1/2″ for some subtle texture. (Unfortunately you can’t see that texture in these photos, but I promise it’s there!) Once the flowers were adhered, I placed a cropped light green panel across the bottom, followed by a darker green strip along the top – sort of like the edge of a flower box.
As for the sentiment, I chose the new Best Wishes hot foil plate, some gold foil, and the coordinating die to cut it out. I backed it with skinny foam strips and adhered it to the bottom right corner, right over top of a few smaller die cut flowers.
If you’d like to participate in Pinkfresh’s April Challenge, all the details you’ll need to enter can be found here. Winners will receive a $50 gift card, and you’ve got until April 27th to share. I can’t wait to see what you create!
