Pinkfresh Studio August 2022 Release Blog Hop

Pinkfresh Studio Leafy Background Stencil - August Blog Hop

Hey there friends! Today we’ve got 2 reasons to celebrate: the first is that it’s my birthday, and the second is that it’s time for a new Pinkfresh Studio release! The latter is probably far more exciting for you, so let’s talk about it, shall we?

Pinkfresh is known for gorgeous florals, and more recently, some beautiful cover plates that work as perfect layering pieces underneath. In this release there are 4 new floral suites (stamp, stencil and die combos), 2 cover plates, a bunch of hot foil sentiments, a stand-alone leafy background stencil set, and some Fancy Circle dies, which you may have already spotted on my project today.

This project began the way they always do, with selecting colors. I was in the mood for some jewel tones this time around, so I chose Pinkfresh inks in Candy Apple, Regal Kiss and Clementine. Working through the new Leafy Background Stencil set, I used one color per layer, using my usual method of blending in the direction that the leaves were falling. This allowed me to easily create a subtle gradient, and I also find that blending in one direction helps prevent pooling/concentration of ink around the edges of the stencil’s open areas.

With the stenciling complete, I moved on to the sentiment. Within this new release, there are several sentiments in the Phrase Builder Hello hot foil plate set, but I wanted something a little smaller. The new Thank You hot foil plates were perfect, and after foiling them in rose gold, I cut them out with the coordinating dies. (The dies were previously released, so if you’re a big Pinkfresh fan you may already have them in your stash!)

Next came some die cutting – first using the new Fancy Circle dies, and then with the Curvy Leaves die set. I arranged the leaves behind the circles, layering the elements and backing the entire piece with foam tape for dimension. After mounting it on my stenciled panel and gluing it all to an A2 card base, she was done!
