Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Ornaments + Instagram Hop

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Ornaments Stencil Card

Hey there friends! Today it’s time to carry on the celebrations for Pinkfresh Studio’s latest release with an Instagram hop, and I’m excited to show you another card that I’ve created with some of the new holiday goodies.

Layering stencils have become increasingly popular in the cardmaking world over the past year, and I typically pair mine with stamped outlines. That said, the new Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Ornaments layering stencils stand very strongly on their own – there’s no stamp required to create these beauties! The set includes a gorgeous little trio of ornaments, a pine branch, and a ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment, all of which can be cut out in a single pass through your die cutting machine with the coordinating die.

For this card, I stenciled my ornaments with Pinkfresh inks in Lavender and Misty Coast, and for the pine branch I used Tidal Pond – one of my favorite colors in the entire ink lineup. Then, to create a metallic look on the tops, I used clear sparkle embossing powder, taking a blending tool and some embossing ink over the stencil before applying the powder. I did the same thing with clear embossing powder over the bulbs to give them some shine. (I really did contemplate using the sparkling powder here too, but didn’t want to overdo it. Looking back, I don’t think it would have been too much at all!)

For my background, I foiled the new Abstract Triangles hot foil plate in silver on a piece of vellum, then placed a thick white border over it with foam tape. The ornaments and pine branch followed, and finally, I added a foiled ‘Seasons Greetings’ from the new Holiday Sentiments set.
