Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Release - Nested Chevron Hot Foil Cards

It’s a fresh month, a fresh week, and a fresh new release from Pinkfresh Studio! If you’re the type who likes to get an early start on holiday cardmaking, then you’re in the right place because this release is full of holiday goodies.

As I’m sure you’ll agree, time is of the essence when creating holiday cards and if you can make more than one at the same time, that’s a big bonus! In the two cards I’ve got to share today, I’ve done exactly that. One of the new products in the Pinkfresh release is a Nested Chevron hot foil plate, and if you’ve been around here in the past, you’ll know I already put my Nested Chevron pop-out stamp and coordinating die to use a LOT! The new hot foil plate is perfect for adding a shiny holiday feel, and I didn’t let a single piece of that gorgeous foiled goodness go to waste in this crafting session.

To get started, I hot foiled the nested chevron image on a plain white panel of 110# cardstock. Pinkfresh Studio’s foil plates are some of the best quality I’ve tried to date, and I can honestly tell you that this foiled absolutely beautifully on the first try. I have a Big Shot die cutting machine, and have found that the best sandwich combo with my Pinkfresh foil plate products consists of the 2 shims that come with the Glimmer Hot Foil System, as well as one piece of 110lb cardstock as an extra shim. This is what I used when I went to foil the Nested Chevron image, and it worked perfectly – no overfoiling at all!

Next, I used the Nested Chevron die to cut the pieces apart. With the die in hand, I also cut out chevrons from pink, light green, and 2 shades of teal/blue cardstock. I love a good non-conventional holiday palette, and that’s what I was going for here.

This die cuts both thin and thick chevrons, so for my first card I lined up the thicker colored cardstock chevrons with the thinner foiled chevrons. For the second, I did the opposite. I used foam tape to add dimension to both, then reached for another new product duo – The Holiday Sentiments hot foil plate and coordinating die. If you loved the Perfect Sentiments and Celebrating You sets that were released earlier this year, the Holiday Sentiments are going to be your new favorite over the coming months of crafting! Just like the others, you get 10 sentiments on a single hot foil plate, and a single die to cut them all out in one go. (There’s also a coordinating stamp set.)

I took the opportunity to batch create a whole bunch of the Holiday Sentiments while my foiling machine was on, and eventually selected one for each card. They had dimension, they had shine, they had pops of color – they were done!
