Pinkfresh Studio July Release and Blog Hop

Pinkfresh Studio July Blog Hop - Happy Blooms

Hey there friends! It’s time for another great Pinkfresh Studio release, and today I’m excited to be part of a blog hop full of inspo featuring the newest products.

Pinkfresh Studio July Release and Blog Hop

As you’ve probably noticed, there have been a lot of layering stencils popping up lately. These coordinate with stamps and dies, and the new Pinkfresh Studio Happy Blooms set is just one of many examples. For this card however, I decided to just use the Happy Blooms stamp set and coordinating dies, letting the color for my card come from stripes in the background.

To get started, I put a plain white card panel in my stamping platform and picked out one of the stripes from the Pop-Out Gradiating Stripes Cling Stamp. Attaching this to the door of my stamping tool, I began stamping repeatedly in my selected ink colors – Coral reef, Passion Fruit, Raspberry Bliss, Tidal Pond and Ocean Breeze. Once the panel was completely covered, I used my trimmer to slice it down to fit my A2 card base, then got to work on the embossing.

Using the Happy Blooms stamp set, I embossed both florals in white on heavyweight vellum, then cut them out with the coordinating dies. With such vibrant colors in the background, I chose a the sentiment ‘sweet friend’ from the Sweet Friend Floral stamp set, stamped it in Tidal Pond ink, then stamped again with clear embossing ink and heat set some clear embossing powder. I chose this sentiment because it’s one with a heavier weight font, which I think helps it stand out in front of the bold stripes.

Next it was time for some layering! I used the Essentials Blanket Stitched Circles die set to cut out my white sentiment circle, then placed it over my two floral die cuts until I had the positioning exactly how I wanted it. Then, I secured the vellum to the back of the circle, added some foam tape behind, and centered it on my striped card panel. More foam tape went onto the striped piece, then I mounted it on the A2 card base. To finish off, I added a few clear crystals around the sentiment.
