Pinkfresh Studio June 2022 Release + Blog Hop

Pinkfresh Studio June 2022 Release - Dotted Scallop Cover Plate Handmade Card

Hi friends! It’s time for Pinkfresh Studio’s latest release, and today I’m excited to be part of the blog hop to celebrate.

If you attended the Create + Connect Virtual Event last month, you’ll recognize a few items from your event kit. We’ve got the Geo Arch Hot Foil Plate, along with a coordinating layering stencil set so you can color it up however you like. There’s also the Mini Slimline Frames, Ornate Circle Die, and coordinating dies to go with the Heart Smiles stamp set from the kit. Of course that’s not all – there’s plenty of other goodies too, and today’s project features a few of them. Let’s get into it!

Pinkfresh has been knocking it out of the park with cover plate dies lately, and the new Dotted Scallops Cover Plate has stolen my geometric pattern-loving heart. It’s a super subtle, pierced pattern, and like other Pinkfresh cover plates, it doesn’t cut an edge so you can use it to create other card sizes too. As I like to do, I used it with a piece of white cardstock to create my background. Then, I set up my hot foiling machine and got to work on my focal floral (say that 10 times fast!) and sentiment.

The flowers you see here are from the new Folk Floral Stem suite, which includes a hot foil plate, die, layering stencil and stamp set. After foiling the plate, I used Pinkfresh inks in Raspberry Bliss, Sparkling Rose, Mermaid Cove and Sweet Mustard to color the images, then cut them out with the coordinating die. I actually made a second set while I was at it, and you’ll see it put to use in a different way on my card for tomorrow’s Instagram Hop – stay tuned!

Next, I foiled and die cut a hexagon frame, stacked it up on a few other plain white hexagon die cuts for dimension, and played around with the arrangement until the Folk Floral Stem looked like it was growing around the frame. With that secured to my dotted scallop background, I finished the card with a Thanks from the Fancy Script Words suite.

  3. Hello, Angela –
I, too, succumbed to the charms of this awesome Folk Floral set. I broke down and already ordered “all the things” with that title. I’d still love to win a prize in the hop, however… there are SO many beautiful items in this release – it’s AWESOME! Your color choices are lovely and I like how you used the hexagonal frame as a design element.
