Pinkfresh Studio March Release and Blog Hop

Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Bouquet

Friends, it’s another release day for Pinkfresh Studio!

Pinkfresh Studio March Release Blog Hop

This new release is a big one, including absolutely stunning new washi tapes in floral designs with gorgeous gold highlights. If you can believe it, this is the first time I’ve ever worked with washi tapes! Well, aside from using the plain kind to hold dies in place while running them through my die cutting machine. But having spent a significant amount of time playing with these beautiful ones – now I understand what all the fuss is about!

Today’s cards feature the new Joyful Bouquet washi tape, along with the coordinating dies. (Just you wait… I’ve got cards that use the coordinating stamp set coming up later this week – stay tuned!)

For my first card, I rolled out the washi tape on a piece of plain white cardstock to create the images that I then die cut. One of the fabulous things about the coordinating dies is that they are all one piece, meaning you can lay out the washi tape on your cardstock, place the die on top, and cut all of the flowers at the same time – a card maker’s dream!

Once my flowers were all cut out, I embossed the words “This is not a card, it’s a hug with a fold in the middle” from the Hugs and Good Vibes stamp set in gold, right in the middle of my white card base. I created a frame from the Essentials Scalloped Rectangles die set, then played with the arrangement of the flowers behind it until I had them framing the sentiment. (I’m not even going to tell you how long I fiddled with this – not because it was difficult, but because I am very particular about placement like this!)

I adhered the flowers to the back of my frame using tape runner, then added foam tape so that the frame and flowers would pop off the card. On a side note, you could have certainly added a window and confetti to turn this into a shaker card, but I figured I’d keep the focus on the gorgeous gold shine in the washi tape. Next time!

For the second card, I used some of my remaining die cut washi flowers to create a wreath – this time, tucking them behind my sentiment. I embossed “friends make happiness bloom” from the Friendship Blooms stamp set in gold, then used a circle from the Essentials Diagonal Stitched Circles die set to cut it out. I backed this with foam tape, mounted it in the middle of my white card panel, and because you guys know I can’t get enough dimension…. you guessed it – foam taped the back of the white card panel too!
