Pinkfresh Studio May Essentials Release and Blog Hop

Pinkfresh Studio Mini Slimline Essentials Bundle Cards

It’s time for another Pinkfresh Studio release, and I’m SUPER excited about this one because there are so many new goodies for making mini slimline cards! I’m not sure about you, but I don’t make a ton of regular slimline cards because they’re just… so…. big? There’s a lot of space to fill! That said, I’m a huge fan of the “new” mini slimline size, and today I’ve got 2 cards to share that feature an incredible new Pinkfresh die set.

What are the dimensions of a mini slimline card?!

From what I’ve seen, it varies a little bit across brands. Pinkfresh Studio’s mini slimline supplies are sized for cards that are 3.25 wide x 6.25 long. They’ll fit inside of a number 7 envelope, which measures 3.5″ wide x 6.5″ tall. To make your card base, here’s what to do:

  • Take  8.5×11 sheet, and chop 4.5″ off to get 6.5″ (folding in half will make 3.25.
  • Turn and trim 2.25″ off
  • Score at 3.25″

Ta-daaa! Now we’re ready to get started.

Both of the cards I’ve got for you use the Pinkfresh Studio Mini Slimline Essentials Bundle, a 15-piece (yes, 15!) set with diagonal and horizontal-stitched frames, as well as a variety of circle dies. If you, like me, enjoy making wreaths and shaker cards, this little bundle is quickly going to become one of the most-used in your stash, I can feel it!

To get started, I created two ink blended panels that would become the background of my shaker cards. Lately I’ve found myself gravitating towards teal color schemes, so I decided to switch things up this time and go for a combo of pink, coral and yellow. The dye inks I chose were Candied Violet, Sparkling Rose, Coral Reef and Lemon Whip, and I used my blender brushes to completely cover the back panels before trimming them to fit my card bases.

Next, I moved on to the window layers. For the ‘Yay’ card, I used a small circle die to cut out three vertically aligned windows on a piece of white cardstock, then used the dotted circle from the Mini Slimline Essentials Bundle (I LOVE this little die!) to create the frames around them.

For the ‘So happy for you’ card, I repurposed the Slim Diagonal Stripes Die (intended for full-size slimline cards) from a previous Essentials release to create some white diagonal stripes. After adhering a piece of acetate behind it, I trimmed it down to match the size of my ink blended panels, then used two of the rectangle dies from the Mini Slimline Essentials Bundle to create a frame that was placed on top of the diagonal stripes.

With both of my shaker windows created, I backed them with skinny foam strips, filled them with clear crystals, then sealed up the back with the ink blended panels. once they were mounted on my card bases, it was time for sentiments!

The ‘Yay’ was created using the Pinkfresh Studio Perfect Sentiments hot foil plate, and the ‘So happy for you’ from the Celebrating You hot foil plate. These two plates also have coordinating dies and stamps, and these days are some of the most heavily-used sentiments in my stash! I adhered the sentiments to each, then made some quick coordinating envelopes (how cute, right?!!) with the Mini Slimline Envelope die set. Yes, there’s an envelope die!

I’ve got so many more cards to share with you this week that use the new Mini Slimline Essentials Bundle, first, let’s talk about how you can enter to win it – and the rest of the release, too!
