Pinkfresh Studio November Essentials Release Blog Hop

Hey there friends! Today marks the launch of Pinkfresh Studio’s November 2020 Essentials Die release, as well as a very fun blog hop full of inspiration. I’m honoured to be part of this, along with many incredibly talented crafters, and am excited to show you a few cards I created using the new products.

Pinkfresh Studio November Essentials Release

This release includes Pinkfresh Studio Essentials Dies for both regular A2-sized cards, as well as slimline cards. A quick skim of my recent blog posts and Instagram will tell you that I’m a big fan of stripes, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw the Essentials Slim Stripes Die Set!

The 3-piece die set includes stripes of 3 different widths, and for both of today’s cards, I’ve used the 1/4″ ones to cut stripes in pink, purple, teal, blue and silver glitter cardstock. In the past I’ve just used my paper trimmer to create stripes, but there’s something strangely satisfying about getting them exactly the same width (and in very little time) with just a single run through the die cutting machine!

For the first card, I adhered my 5 stripes vertically on a white card panel. Next, I used the Diagonal Stitched Circles Die Set to create a frame for a shaker window. As for the scenery in the window, I stamped one of the cute little homes and some trees from the Our Home to Yours stamp set, filling in the area beneath with some light ink blending to resemble snow. I die cut my scene with one of the circles from the Diagonal Stitched Circles Die Set, backed my shaker frame with some acetate, and lined the edge of the circle with skinny foam strips. After filling the shaker window with some snowflake confetti, I sealed it up and adhered it towards the upper-third portion of my card, right in line with the stripes.

To finish, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Tree Trimming Friends stamp set in white on navy cardstock for contrast. But I wasn’t quite finished with the stripes yet!

For the second card, I created another shaker window using the new Stitched Scallop Rectangles Die Set. This time I opted to put the sentiment inside, so I stamped it on a rectangle of white cardstock after lightly applying some Sky Blue ink with my blending brushes around the edges.

I assembled the pieces of my shaker the same way as described for the first card and adhered it to my striped panel with foam tape. To add even more of a holiday vibe, I stamped a tree from the Tree Trimming Friends stamp set, then decorated it with some sparkly heat embossed lights.

  2. Love the shakers. The single house
over the row of stripes is great.

  5. I have struggled with cutting paper strips to the exact width I want. Even when I measure it seems like it’s off somewhere. And I love this die contains 3 sizes instead of 3 separate dies. It’s so much more economical than purchasing 3 dies. And makes it easier for us crafters on a budget to get all the supplies we want. Thank you for your beautiful card designs!
