Fresh new year, fresh new release! That’s right – today I’m part of a blog hop for the Pinkfresh Studio January 2022 release, and if this is your first time here, welcome!
I’ve said during several Pinkfresh blog hops before that the release is my favorite, but I really, really mean it this time – this one is an absolute stunner! There’s modern botanicals, geometric background foil plates, the hot foil sentiments that I’ve been dreaming of, and the cover die that I’m head over heels in love with. Let’s take a peek, shall we?!
First things first: that background plate. You’re looking at the Sparkling Diamonds cover die, and isn’t she fab?! This plate pierces a gorgeous tiled diamond pattern on cardstock and the design could be used in the background of any type of card. I trimmed it to 3.5 x 4.75″, then set it aside while I moved on to the rest of the card’s elements.
Next up, the flowers. (It wouldn’t be a Pinkfresh card without them, right?) Those that know me know that I’m a total plant lady and absolutely adore succulents (among many other plants, of course!) I think this is why I was particularly drawn to the new Brighter Days set, which includes a hot foil plate, stamp set, stencils and coordinating die. Here, I’ve used the stamp set, stamping my outlines in Pinkfresh inks (Tidal Pond and Regal Kiss), then filling the images in with my blending brushes.
For the circle that I arranged the sentiments on, I used some plain dies from various Pinkfresh die sets to create a frame, covered it in clear Versamark embossing ink, and coated it with gold embossing powder. I used tweezers to hold the piece while I heat set it, and once fully set, adhered it to my Sparkling Diamonds panel along with the flowers and succulents. (You could absolutely just cut the frame from gold cardstock but I didn’t have any at the time.)
For the sentiment, I used the new Fancy Script Words hot foil plate and dies, and friends…. these sentiments. Get ready to see me using them EVERYWHERE because I’m obsessed! The size is perfect, the foiling is gorgeous, and the words themselves cover all your everyday cardmaking needs. In the past I’ve struggled to find a Happy Birthday die cut that I like, that also doesn’t take up too much space on my cards. Pinkfresh has completely solved that problem for me, and I can’t recommend this set enough!
I finished the card with a couple of metallic gold pearls, and because I was so excited about the products, made another card with a slightly different design. Stay tuned, because it’s coming up in my Instagram feed tomorrow! In the meantime, it’s time to hop around to see what other designers have created…
