Reverse Confetti: Countdown to Confetti Day 3

Welcome back for day 3 of Reverse Confetti‘s Countdown to Confetti! The new release goes live tomorrow, July 15th, and today’s reveal project features the Dog Days stamp set, coordinating dies, and Deco Cover Panel.

The Dog Days stamp set features a bunch of cute critter images, as well as a few beachy elements including palm trees and flowers. I decided to use the palm trees as the focal point on a shaker card, so let’s get into the process.

I began with coloring the stamped images with alcohol inks from Copic and Sketchmarker:

• Greens: Sketchmarker Iguana (G20), and Copic YG03 and G20
• Yellow: Sketchmarker Cream (Y44)
• Purples: Copic V01, V05
• Brown: Copic E17, E13
• Oranges: Sketchmarker Tea Rose (O24) and Coral (O23)

After die cutting the images, I also created my background panel with white cardstock and the new Deco Cover Panel. Next, I worked on an ink blended background. I wanted it to look a bit like a beach scene, so to do this, I masked off parts of a plain white panel with low-tack tape. I worked through the blue, pink and yellow sections, carefully removing the tape after I finished each color.

With the background complete, I cut a circle into my Deco Cover Panel piece and backed it with acetate and foam tape to form a shaker window. I used tiny iridescent stars for my shaker filler, sealed them up with my ink blended background, then arranged my palm trees and flower die cuts over top. For the sentiment, I grabbed a “sending good vibes” from the Dog Days sentiments stamp set, and embossed it in white on dark purple cardstock for contrast.
