Today marks the launch of the Simon Says Stamp Hello Beautiful release, and I’ve got a colourful card to share with you today that features the new Welcoming stamp set.
To get started, I picked three colours (pink, blue and green), then found a light and dark shade of each in my cardstock collection for a total of 6 colours. Next, I die cut a whole bunch of circles using my Geometric Circle Builder die set. As someone who loves puzzles and making art with geometric shapes, this die set had my heart when it was released last year! I cut 12 full circles out of white cardstock, then used one of the other dies in the set to cut 2 from each of my 6 colours.
With all of my die cutting done, I sat down with all of the pieces and my taperunner, then got to sticking! I added 4 coloured pieces to each of my 12 circles, then arranged those on my trimmed white card panel. On a side note, I’ve recently been using the Ranger Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion for my projects, and it works SO well for cards like this where alignment is everything! When everything was properly centered, I adhered those circles to the panel with foam tape, then mounted that panel on my white card base.
Moving on to the sentiment, the Welcoming stamp set has a whole bunch of great greetings, including “Welcome to the world” for baby cards, “You’re always welcome for dinner”, and “You’re always welcome to a free hug from me”, which is the one I chose. I embossed this on a piece of pink cardstock (the same that you see as the lighter shade of pink on the circles) in white, then cut it out with a simple nested rectangle die.
After adhering my sentiment onto my card, I finished it off with a few silver sequins. I was really pleased with how this turned out, and I know this stamp set will be one I reach for year-round. If you’d like to check it out, as well as the rest of the release, you’ll find it on the Simon Says Stamp website. You can also find a bunch of inspo on Instagram under the #SSSHelloBeautiful hashtag. Thanks so much for stopping by!
