Summer of Stamping: Ellen Hutson x Pretty Pink Posh Release

Ellen Hutson Summer of Stamping - Pretty Pink Posh Summer Circles

Hey there friends! Today I’m joining in on the fun of the Ellen Hutson Summer of Stamping, and this week’s release is a collaboration with Pretty Pink Posh. I’m a long-time fan of Pretty Pink Posh’s sparkling clear sequins – they’re my go-to embellishments and I use them all the time! To celebrate the Summer of Stamping, I combined the new Summer Circles stamp set with a whole bunch of sparkling clear sequins in a slimline shaker card. Full-size slimline cards (4×9″) aren’t something I create often, but I really wanted to include 3 of the fun images from this stamp set. Go big or go home, right?!

This project began with heat embossing three of the images in the stamp set on acetate. I chose white detail embossing powder for this because I wanted the images to have some contrast against their colorful backgrounds. Sometimes it can be difficult to get good results when embossing on acetate, but I’ve found that using heat-resistant acetate and giving it a really good wipe with an anti-static powder tool before stamping is a winning combo. While my heat gun was still hot, I also embossed a small ‘thank you so much’ from the Pretty Pink Posh Simple Sentiments stamp set in gold.

With my heat embossing done, it was time for die cutting. On a white card panel trimmed to fit on my slimline card, I die cut three circles, just slightly bigger than the coordinating Summer Circles die set. Flipping over the panel, I adhered my images embossed on acetate, and voila – shaker window portion complete! Next up came the ink blended backgrounds, where I went with the following ink combos from Pinkfresh Studio:

  • Raspberry Bliss and Candy Violet
  • Apricot and Sunshine
  • Mermaid Cove and Ocean Breeze

I created each blend on separate pieces of white cardstock making each one big enough to fill the background of the acetate windows. Then, after covering the back of that white window panel with foam tape, I filled each of the 3 circle areas with Pretty Pink Posh clear sparkling sequins, sealed up the back with my ink blended backgrounds, and mounted the whole thing on my 4×9″ slimline card base. To finish it off, I backed my little sentiment with a foam strip and centered it beneath the surfboard shaker window.
