Summer of Stamping Week 4: Essentials By Ellen Release

Summer of Stamping - Essentials by Ellen Everything's Beachy

Hey there friends! Today I’m super excited to be taking part in the final week of the Ellen Hutson’s Summer of Stamping. Today a brand new Essentials by Ellen release has gone live, and if you’re looking for some stamps and dies that have some major summer vibes going on, you’re going to like these!

Summer of Stamping - Essentials by Ellen Everything's Beachy

When I saw the Everything’s Beachy stamp set, I was instantly reminded of summer days at the beach as a kid, and a few of my most memorable holidays to tropical destinations. Whether overlooking the ocean or a pool, lying under a beach umbrella with a cold drink is one of my favorite places to be! The Everything’s Beachy stamp set comes with a solid umbrella image, as well as an outline stamp and another with some highlights. I used the first two to create a bunch of coral-colored umbrellas, then cut them out with the coordinating die.

Next up, it was time for some stripes. If you’ve seen any of my previous cards, this probably won’t come as a surprise! I cut a bunch of stripes from white and mint-colored cardstock, then played with their arrangement on my white card panel until I had what looked like a bunch of beach towels laid out in different directions. Leaving the bottom right corner clear for my gold heat-embossed ‘Soak up the Sun’ sentiment, I adhered all my towel stripes, then moved on to the third piece – the suntanning ladies!

The Everything’s Beachy stamp set comes with both male and female characters, but my intended recipient of this card loves a good girly beach day just as much as I do, so I stamped and die cut a bunch of the ladies to recreate that sort of scene. After shading in their legs with colored pencils, I paired each one up with an umbrella top and secured them on my striped beach towel panel, using foam tape under the umbrellas to create some shadows.

I mounted the panel to my A2 card base, and figured the card needed just a little something extra in the form of shiny embellishments! I went with little gold confetti bits from Pretty Pink Posh, adding one on each of the umbrella tops.
