How was your weekend? Mine consisted of a mix of card making and crochet, and while I can’t crochet nearly as fast as I make cards, I have to say that both have been equally satisfying lately. I’m currently working on my first cardigan, and at the time of writing this I’ve very nearly got all of the pieces made. Seaming them together is up next, and that’s really the part that scares me most! Here’s to hoping it’s not too tough, and that this first cardigan is not my last!
Yesterday I had a fun with The Stamp Market Mod Rainbow Cover Die – ok, a LOT of fun – many cards were made! I decided to do a batch card making session, using a variety of sentiments from the Lots of Little Words stamp set. This is such a versatile sentiment stamp set that I was so excited to add to my stash because it’s got something for every occasion. The sentiments are also quite small, so they can be tucked in pretty much anywhere.
To get started, I pulled out a bunch of pieces of Color Crush cardstock and backed them all with double-sided adhesive sheets. You could absolutely use tape runner or any type of adhesive you like, but I chose adhesive sheets because I knew I’d be making lots of cards, and that it would save me some time.
Next I used the Mod Rainbow Cover Die to cut a full rainbow from each piece, including some diamond glitter cardstock. From there, I mix and matched colours – some in ROYGVIB order, others in less-conventional combos – until I had full sets. Then it was time to stick them down onto each card base, and that’s where I was very thankful to have the double-sided adhesive in place!
I stamped and embossed my sentiments, then die cut them with a simple banner die. After backing each with a piece of foam tape, I adhered them to each card, slightly overlapping the rainbows so that they’d stand out.
And there you have it, a big batch-friendly card design with endless possibilities for sentiment matching and colour schemes. Who wouldn’t want a rainbow card at any time of year, especially on these gray winter days? Thanks so much for stopping by!
